Identity, place, connection, return: Elo (EH-loh) takes its name from the Portuguese word for link, a nod to the founder's Brazilian heritage, shaped by the belief that every stay can connect us more deeply to who we are and to who we are becoming.

At the heart of Elo is a simple duality: we choose places, and places shape us in return. Elo is a more personal expression of the many ways we travel, and the many selves we meet along the way.

Elo’s travelers are drawn not only to beauty, but to meaning. They notice what others miss — the pace of a room, its silence, the feeling of being fully inside a place rather than just passing through it.

The places we feature are chosen for what they understand about themselves, and how fully they build from that understanding. A clear point of view. Restraint. An environment shaped with intention.

We look for hotels that know what they are and what they are not. Places that have made deliberate choices and held to them without apology.

This is what Elo looks for: hotels chosen not only for how they look, but for what they know, what they hold, and what they make possible. Hotels that are, in the truest sense, legible.

A place can reflect who we are. It can also reshape who we become.

We are often drawn to places that mirror an inner need already present within us: the need to rest or awaken, to think or to move, to retreat or to expand. Yet once we arrive, those same places begin to work on us in return. They can regulate, inspire, reorient, and transform.

Elo exists within that exchange, the link between identity and environment, and the belief that there is a stay for every self.

Travel is not one-size-fits-all, because neither are we.

Originally from Brazil, Founder and Creative Director Ana Carini Seiford has traveled the world and lived on three continents. Shaped by life across cultures and a deeply personal relationship to place, she came to understand that the places we are drawn to are never random, but reflections of who we are and who we are becoming.

After two decades in brand, design, and luxury hospitality across the United States and Asia, she created Elo to offer a more personal way into travel, one informed not only by destination, but by what a place can stir within us.
